Garbage collection

The purpose of garbage collection

The Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain is one of the largest human gatherings in the world, where every year millions of people from all over the globe walk on foot to Karbala to renew their allegiance to Imam Hussain This spiritual and meaningful journey is an opportunity for self-purification, strengthening Islamic unity, and showcasing the true face of Shia culture to the world.

But alongside these spiritual aspects, maintaining cleanliness and environmental hygiene is one of the main responsibilities of the pilgrims Not littering along the route is not only a sign of civilization and respect for the rights of others, but also a reflection of true faith and social responsibility

If trash is left along the route, it not only pollutes the environment but also tarnishes the beauty of this magnificent movement. In some cases, this pollution can cause illness, unpleasant odors, or even block the path, causing hardship for the pilgrims

Despite the numerous moqebs (rest stops) offering free services, pilgrims are expected to participate in keeping the route clean by carrying their own trash bags. Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) rose up to reform society, so we too must beautify our community through our behavior.

If every pilgrim only collects their own trash, the Arbaeen route will become a model of cleanliness alongside spirituality. This act is also a sign of respect for the Iraqi hosts and the people who wholeheartedly welcome the pilgrims.

The culture of Arbaeen is not limited to mourning and tears; it must also be reflected in practicing Islamic values and teachings. Respect for nature, environmental cleanliness, and avoiding harm to others are all part of the culture promoted by the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Not littering along the Arbaeen route is a tribute to the path sanctified by the blood of the martyrs. Let us all strive to keep this luminous path clean, beautiful, and inspiring.
